On May 8th, the Tourist Organization of the City of Subotica presented the rich tourism offer of Subotica and Palić at a promotional event for Serbian tourism held in Timisoara. The aim was to strengthen collaboration with Romanian partners and promote local tourism potential in the Romanian market.
Visitors had the opportunity to explore the diverse highlights of Subotica and Palić—ranging from unique Art Nouveau architecture, rich cultural and historical heritage, and vibrant events, to gastronomy, active leisure, and year-round wellness retreats. There was exceptional interest in weekend getaways, city break packages, and the appeal of Lake Palić as one of Northern Serbia’s premier tourist destinations.
“Presenting Subotica and Palić to the audience in Timisoara is exceptionally important to us, as the Romanian market represents one of the most vital source markets for our region. The visitors’ enthusiasm confirms that Subotica and Palić offer an attractive and recognizable experience for regional guests,” stated Božidarka Golubović, Director of the Tourist Organization of the City of Subotica.
The event showcased Serbia’s broader tourism potential and was attended by Ivana Jakšić Matović, Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in Timisoara, who offered her support for further strengthening tourist ties and collaboration between Serbia and Romania.
Participation in this event once again highlighted the importance of the Romanian market for tourism in Subotica and Palić, underscoring the value of continuous destination marketing across the region.
