On the southwestern shore of Lake Palić, in the area of Aleksandrovo, lies one of the most significant pilgrimage sites in the greater Subotica region. Known by various local names—Bunarić in Croatian, Szentkút in Hungarian, and Vodice in Serbian—each name translates to “a small spring” or “well.”

This sanctuary is truly unique as a meeting point for two religious traditions—Roman Catholic and Serbian Orthodox—who have shared this sacred space for centuries.

Nestled within a beautifully landscaped park, the shrine features two peaceful chapels that are open to visitors year-round. The sanctuary truly comes alive in late August, when large numbers of pilgrims gather to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption.

Vodice stands as an extraordinary example of Bačka’s spiritual and cultural landscape, where faith, tradition, and nature intertw in a serene, harmonious setting.
