Located on the ground floor of the Jewish Community Building, the so-called Small Synagogue originally served as a winter synagogue, designed for gatherings during the colder months of the year.
Its interior is distinguished by refined and intricate wall paintings that enhance the intimate, spiritual atmosphere of this sacred space. Of particular visual and symbolic value is the stained-glass window depicting Noah’s dove of peace—a universal emblem of hope, peace, and spiritual renewal.
Today, the Small Synagogue stands as a vital piece of Subotica’s Jewish cultural heritage and a testament to the city’s rich, multilayered religious and cultural life.
