Subotica has officially become the first tourist destination in Serbia to become awarded the prestigious European “Family Welcome” certificate. This seal of quality confirms that the city, along with its attractions, events, and accommodation facilities, meets the highest European standards for a safe, engaging, and carefree vacation for families with children.
The certification was successfully accomplished within the cross-border Interreg IPA project “Majestic ZOOs”—valued at €1.5 million—implemented by the Tourist Organization of the City of Subotica in partnership with the Tourist Board of the City of Osijek, Palić Zoo, and Osijek Zoo.
A total of 11 outstanding local businesses and sites earned this prestigious recognition, cementing Subotica’s position as the leading regional hub for family tourism.
