The Monument to the Holy Trinity in Subotica, crafted by sculptor Karl Salzer, was erected in 1815 on what was then the city’s central marketplace, making it one of the oldest public monuments in the city.

Throughout its history, the monument has changed locations several times. In 1964, it was relocated to the square between the Cathedral of St. Teresa of Avila and the Subotica Bishopric, where it remained until 2014. Following a restoration initiative launched by the Hungarian National Council, the monument was restored and returned to its original historical site in 2016.

With its rich historical and symbolic value, the Monument to the Holy Trinity forms a vital part of Subotica’s urban identity. Today, it stands as a testament to European values—embodying tolerance, mutual understanding, and the rejection of all forms of discrimination.
