The International Children’s Theatre Festival Subotica has established itself within the broader theatrical public right from the very beginning – thanks primarily to its wisely and thoroughly conceived core programming principles – as one of the most prestigious European and world festivals, thereby taking a leading position in the Western Balkans region.
The International Children’s Theatre Festival Subotica was founded in 1994 by the decision of the Subotica City Assembly as a permanent event of international character, whose official program consists of a selection of domestic and foreign performances for children and youth under eighteen years of age.
It is held every year during the last week of September. The Festival program takes place at various locations throughout the city, including theatres, cinema halls, schools, galleries, and open-air venues.
